The traditional method of RCT requires two or more treatment sessions. If a dental crown is also required, a patient may require four or more appointments for the complete treatment of an infected tooth. These numerous appointments create multiple inconveniences for many patients because of the time they have to take off work, as well as an increased number of anaesthetic injections they have to undergo as part of their treatment.
However, contemporary research and the refinement of RCT techniques have shown that many nerve infection cases can be successfully treated in a single appointment visit. At Newlife Dental, we offer single visit RCT options to appropriate patients with the possibility of having the crown preparation done together too. Such a treatment plan saves a lot of time. The patient would only have to undergo the anaesthetic injection once, at the first appointment. The anaesthetic injection is not required at the second appointment for the crown fitting. Hooray!
